We are excited to announce a special publication opportunity for ICML 2026 AI for Science Workshop participants! In partnership with Machine Learning: Science and Technology (MSTL), we have organized a focused collection dedicated to advancing AI for scientific discovery.
📚 Focused Collection: AI for Scientific Discovery
This collection provides a fast-track publication venue for high-quality research presented at our workshop. Selected papers will undergo rigorous peer review and be published in a dedicated collection on the IOP Science platform.

🎯 Scope
We welcome submissions that align with the workshop’s themes, including but not limited to:
- AI Scientists as Tools, Co-authors, and Founders – Systems that assist, collaborate, or autonomously drive scientific discovery
- Verification and Validation – Methods for verifying AI-generated hypotheses, simulations, and experimental results
- Closed-Loop AI Scientists – Autonomous systems that integrate hypothesis generation, experimentation, and iteration
- Domain-Specific AI for Science – Applications in physics, chemistry, biology, climate science, materials science, and beyond
- Benchmarks and Datasets – New resources for evaluating AI scientists and their components

📝 Submission Guidelines
For Workshop Participants
- Authors of accepted workshop papers are encouraged to expand their work for submission to the MSTL focused collection.
- New submissions that align with the scope are also welcome.
Manuscript Requirements
- Follow the MSTL author guidelines
- Select “AI for Scientific Discovery” as the article type when submitting
- Clearly indicate in your cover letter that the work is related to the ICML 2026 AI for Science Workshop

- All submissions undergo peer review according to MSTL’s standards
